A message from my Teacher : Essence

I've been reviewing my work in the light of everything that has happened just in this year alone. I am reworking my process and now will be creating modules spread across the Philippines where all the components in the Philippines will play a hand in our dream of awakening the world to wonder and magic. Here is my primary draft:

The Work of Essence

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
- The Little Prince

Within you lies the essence. In your deeper moments, yo
u do not doubt this.

You are the One.

Welcome to your inevitable journey back to Oneness.

Are you ready for this?

You cannot deny it anymore.

In Essence, You are the One.

First, Essence 101: Inner Talking and the silen
t gaps between the gently spoken word

Everywhere around us, everyone wants to deepen. They are looking for a depth that transcends greed, compromise, hunger, worry and need.

What is the essence of life? It is so easy to lose the point in life. So common to live pointless lives.

What is the point in all this?

This is what we intend to answer during Essence processing, where we interchange quiet dialogue with a lot of silence between the talking to drive the point home.

The point is often buried beneath layers of self-doubt and forgetfulness of our free, limitless Self. And often, the act of talking serve as layers that keep us in the illusion that words can contain our true and boundless state. Nonethless, said slowly, with great care and a lot of love, the words can point towards Essence.

The Essence 101 class is a guru-less process. Here, your Self teaches your selves. It is your moment for transcending your illusions. It is the time to return to the Essence that is You.

Not everyone is ready to choose essence. Yet.

Essence 101’s aim is to draw out a person’s readiness for genuine choice to return to essence.

Second, The Inner Dance : Movement and the st
illness that comes after it

Listen clearly.

For those who deem themselves genuinely returning to essence, there is The Inner Dance.

First and foremost, the Inner Dance is a gift that comes primarily from one’s ego death. Thus, it is primarily for self-transcendence more than it is for self-actualization. This is its main distinction from other casual disciplines that are practiced for the law of manifesting one’s many egoic desires.

The Inner Dance is the Mother’s offering to those who are ready to go inwards.

Not everyone is ready for the more advanced stages of letting go of whatever they are attached to.

Take good care to review your intentions for experiencing the Inner Dance energy. Do not be confused that it is designed to strengthen your attachment to things.

The Inner Dance is the inward spiraling movement towar
ds simplicity.

For those spiraling towards basic goodness, the Inner Dance constitutes the release of traumas and negative energies trapped in our bodies, minds an
d spirit.

Third, The Journey: The empty spaces amidst the quiet places

Following any release of traumas, you will feel a bliss from being freed from trapped negativity. And with this, a void or emptiness, where before, we felt anger, worry, grief and all kinds of fears.

It is as if a life pattern of fear is brought to a halt, and suddenly, feelings of joyfulness, light and love is felt in the deeper recesses of our heart and mind.

But the life pattern of fear is often persistent. It is unr
elenting. Depending on your courage and wisdom, it may take weeks, days, hours or mere minutes for the blissful fearless moment to last, before fear again takes hold of you, and once again, you are just as afraid once more.

At the outset, the Journey back to Essence will allow you to temporarily separate yourself from the seeming source of your fears. You will find some necessary breathing space from the expectations of others, from the others’ fears, and from many attachments that prevent you from Essential Simplicity.

Later, as you further walk inwards, the Journey will compel you to choose either Essence, or its opposite – Ego and your fears of letting go of it. Do not be afraid. If at this point, you do not succeed in self-transcendence, there is always abundant time for you to choose your Essence later. For now, you are allowed to enjoy your illusions. If this is your current path, be aligned with your points of creation and experience, knowing that your readiness is prerequisite for the true letting go process to take place. Right now, there is yet some perspective to be discovered within the present moment that hinders you from moving on. Enjoy the process, until you finally decide that the Journey once again takes you on the path to Essence.

The Journey to Essence is suggested to be undergone by serious pilgrims only. Subsisting on live raw food is requisite for the pilgrimage which at times cre
ates intense physical and emotional clearing. The Journeys take place in spaces with a lot of energy, in pristine mountains and in deserted islands where cathartic silences can take place.

The Essential Community - The Mission/Vision

The Essence Community founded in the Philippines is comprised of people who recognize the inward path of Essence and are already committed to walking this path together.

They understand that words and concepts are good that they allow people to understand and articulate the path of Essence from the other paths. But they also know well that words cannot contain Essence. In its purest form, essence is not talked about or conceptualized. For it to manifest fully, it must be lived and acted upon.

The Mission of those doing Essence Work is to demonstrate Essence in thought, word and deed. The Essence process is to transcend our dependency on shallow sources of energy, and then seek out the primary Seed/Source of Life on Earth. In Community processing, inter-personal healing work is in order, insofar as they are simultaneously becoming gentler to their body (or light vessel) and mind, as well as all other parts of manifested reality. Raw food, fasting and other forms of physical and emotional clearing are necessary to reach deep levels of self at times difficult to access during normal states of perception.

The Essence is elusive, as it is vague. Those on the path of Essence understand the importance of protecting the Essence within them, which can be easily confused with what the mind thinks is Essence, when it is not. Thus, those on the path of Essence aspire to find themselves within a silent light-filled aura made strong through light eating on foods that are alive, traveling to natural and energetic environs, and most importantly, a lot of solitude – necessary space for inner people to remember that it is not so important to control others, but rather to master their inner self. The end goal of Essence work is not for external power, but for the much-needed inner strength in order for one make it through the thick mental brambles of illusion that obstruct the paths of even the hardiest spiritual pilgrims.

“It is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.”
- The Little Prince

Living It by Martha Cinadar

living it is knowing that
what you see what you hear is tangible
its being a rock in the river
and being the river too
its hearing you'll never be able to do that
living it is knowing you will do it

its speaking the unspoken
its thinking the unthinkable
its doing the unexpected
and quitting before you get fired

living it is giving it
giving it is having it to give
having it is taking it
moving it
shaking it
creating it
and loving it

living it is ...
learning from someone who can actually show you
its cleaning your teachers house
or helping her to find one
its never saying do you want me

living it is loving a man you are not supposed to love
its giving away to emotions
creating commotions calling attention to yourself
and eye contact

living it is a one way ticket with no solid plans
its smoking a j in a smoke cafe in Amsterdam
and saying the day is pretty in a strange new city

living it is having nothing to lose and everything to gain
its putting all your charm and attributes
every single one of them to good use
its knowing the kindness of strangers and love for sale

living it is knowing where to buy rice and beans in bulk
its knowing herbs are cheaper than doctors
its keeping it together when you are falling apart
its writing poetry to ease a broken heart

living it is knowing the stage
late nights
bright lights
bar room fights
fantastic sights
inspiration!
desperation...

and moving on
and moving on
and moving on..

living it is being responsible for your own growth
its playing on the street corners for nickels and saltines
and being asked to move
its sleeping on roofless squads on ancient convents
running up against police getting plummeted to the street
where you belong

living it is
knowing your feet belong on the ground
its knowing life is a dream
thing are never ever ever what they seem
and the certainty that the good things -
the really really really good things -
they're free!

living it is giving it
giving it is having it to give
having it is taking it
moving it
shaking it
creating it
and loving it

You got to love it!

Transmission

Hey! =D

It's been eight weeks since I landed here in Bohol and what can I say, I am having a ball! Everyday, I am realizing this is where I belong, this is everything I have dreamed of and I am just thankful to the Universe, the Sprits and the Dance for bringing me all this experience!

EARTH DAY
We celebrated Earth Day last 4.21 - 22 with a little fun event for the out of school youths in the area.

They camped in for the night last 4.21, unfortunately I miss this part because I was not feeling well. (I think I ate too much peanuts that night!)

The following day was the proper event, Tito Joe and Sister Avillina from Cebu had a little eco workshop. It was in Visayan but I was able to pick up that OIKOS is a greek word for HOME! How cool is that?!? :D

We also organized some games like scavenger hunt for recyable items, banana eating contest (my idea of course hahahaha!), some marathons and a vegetarian cook fest!

It was a great opportunity to talk with the kids, get to know them, know what keeps them busy, what food they eat, etc.We capped the day off with them taking an oath as an eco youth member of Oikos, so they are officially a part of us now :D

See Earth Day photos here http://iamsacredspace.multiply.com/photos/album/6

Here are some projects we thought of :

- Tito Joe is giving them a part of the land where they can build a volleyball court. We also got them a ball. (the local government gave us some funding for this day)

- invite them on BIND gatherings. There were a handful of girls in the group and we think they will really enjoy BIND. Will invite them on our sessions come June, when school starts

- a Tribal Music Workshop for the boys (and girls for that matter). We think this is a good way for them to keep busy, also we need a local Tribal band here for gatherings. Perhaps we can invite the cebu band to come here for a week long workshop. First we have to source out instruments.

- Health and Nutrition and Vegetarian Cooking Workshops - I think I can do this :)

- Permaculture Workshops c/o Tito Joe

- Massage Workshops, Teta Kalimasada, Crafts, Public Speaking, Acting, etc etc

The idea is to teach them a skill that they can use either to get a job or to help out in Oikos. As more and more people comes in here, we will need extra help and I think the kids will welcome the opportunity.

But more importantly, this workshops will build their confidence (it was really hard for me to connect with them in the beginning because they where shy), connect them with people from all over the world and just make them feel good about themselves! We cannot put them all in school (only one! more details on this later! hahaha =) We have plans of building a Waldorf style school anyways and I think we can start now. We just need a plan, teachers and students. I think we have the last two already and it's just a matter of time before we come up with the first.

Let's start with having two weekend workshop a month. I can do one or two workshop, Tito Joe can teach them organic farming and when you come and visit on June, we can do a workshop for them. From there we can discuss who to invite as mentors for future classes.

I have some people in mind also who can teach as volunteers (meaning we dont have to pay them at all, they will even shoulder their transpo). A photographer/painter friend Jon (Juan!) has been wanting to visit and detox. He is a fine arts grad from UP and hasn't done anything like this in his life. I think he will enjoy teaching (like I am discovering now)

And of course Tom and Lee, my Brit friends from Cebu, they've been teaching orphans for years now and hands down they are way better teachers than I. They are very good at connecting with boys especially, they would teach English, Martial Arts, Soccer etc. They are planning to visit on June too, they are also very keen on joining the community and "plant potatoes", I would love for you to meet them. =)

And we can invite a couchsurfer from couchsurfer.com once or twice a month to teach. Everyone has something to teach, as I am discovering now you actually learn by teaching!

The idea is to introduce to them role models that they can look up to. I am not saying that they don't have role models here, I am just saying if I didn't meet the people I met along the way growing up I wouldn't be who I am now. =)

This are just some ideas I am throwing around. Would love to hear your feedback, lets put this project in our pipeline.( And I am expecting to hear from each and one of you. Only PI has been replying to my transmission and sometimes a one liner from Marwin. Would love to hear your ideas too :)

I think I'll park my keyboard for now but expect another tramission from me soon, I have some great photos of Oikos and BIND so you will see the work and transformation we are doing here. Also I wanna discuss with you the gardener/worker I've decided to put in school. He is tito joe's distant relative and he is looking for a scholarship as he really wants to go to college. He's been helping on the building in Oikos for months now and has been working here in BIND the past weeks to take care of the huuuuge garden (i think its 5 hectares), it's just fair that we shoulder his schooling. It shouldnt cost more than 2K a month and I think I can take care of it, will probaly just ask help from you guys once in a while when there is additional costs in school. Will discuss this more on my next transmission.

I just want you to know that I love you, you inspire me and that you are always a part of everything that we do here. Cant wait for you guys to come home.

Oikos = Home

Body : Fruits

I'm reading up on Fruitarianism. I think I am more of a fruitarian than a vegan really. I only eat veggies average twice a week, salad or cooked. My recent trip to Cebu made me realize my eating habit is quite different from most people. For instance, I asked a friend to get us Vegan Pizza and he got one with sea foods. He thought sea food was vegetarian. Hmm.. It's not the first time, I have countless similar stories..

Sometimes it surprises me that people can't believe I can live on coconuts and a handful of bananas everyday. I've been mostly on raw fruit diet for a year now after inner dance thought me to go raw. I read a lot about Raw Food and it make sense to me, our body needs live enzyme and cooking kills the enzyme

For me this fruit lifestyle it's practicality more than anything else.

1) I have more time to do other things rather than cook and wash dishes. This could easily takes 3 hours of my day. (Though I really miss my Kitchen in the city, can't wait to bake cheesecakes when I visit on May!)

2) I save on gas/ electrcicity. You don't need a stove, nor a fridge even! Cheaper for me, more considerate to the planet

3) Its that part of the plant that has the highest light and vibration. Its pure enlightenment that you can smell and taste!

4) it can be eaten raw

A friend mentioned the side effect could be too much sugar on my diet, I still have to read on that and see. For now, Fruitarianism is really the diet that works for me.

I hope I am not sounding egoic or attached to my itt though. Oh believe me I fall too, and when I fall, I fall!! last time in Cebu I had fries and sundaes, halo halo, banana cake and a slice of sea foods pizza!!

Also, I have nothing against meat eaters, most of my friend and family eat meat. I prefer not to see it being wolfed down in front of me though, and will probably request a dining partner to pick the pan-roasted halibut over the rare rib eye, if he can't stick to veggies.

This weekend, ill start planting pappayas, veggies and sprout some seeds. Soon, I want to be able to live off the land, after all it's not called sustainable community for nothing..

I wanna be an Organic Goddess!
